Start using a flat tool to separate the front case white plastic back case silver. You will need to keep your flat tool to crack, work it down into the slot and then get up for that separates the enclosure. Apply enough pressure so that its flat tool not to slip and scratch your iPod! Continue separating the casing by lifting gently around the unit. Should be much easier to rip out the separate casing after getting the initial corner began.
